Introduction to Injectables: Botox®, Restylane® and Juvederm™
It happens almost overnight. One morning you wake up and look in the mirror in shock. Where did those new lines around your eyes come from? Was that furrowing in between my eyes always that deep? Rest assured, there are treatments available for those interested in facial rejuvenation that do not require surgery. Injectables offer a quick solution to get results without the downtime of a surgical procedure

Overview (Fillers vs. Non-Fillers)
Dermal fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm™ were designed to treat lines and deep wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, mouth, and lips, and to contour the cheeks and hollow areas around the eyes. By restoring volume to the skin, fillers provide a rejuvenated fresh look for up to six months.
A non-filler such as Botox® is a naturally derived protein that is used to reduce unwanted muscle activity. Botox® blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Botox® works well on wrinkles and lines that have developed as a result of natural facial expression. Botox® is capable of preventing the specific unwanted lines and wrinkles caused by years of sun damage, smoking and natural expression. Botox® can last up to four months.
Dr. Ditesheim’s Approach to Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation
Dr. Ditesheim is a specialist who can offer you the most advanced treatments for facial rejuvenation. With his understanding of facial anatomy and musculature, he can advise you as to which treatment will give you the best results.
Before Treatment
Restylane®, Juvederm™ and Botox® do not require pretesting, but you should take a few precautions before your treatment. Avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, or high doses of vitamin E before treatment, as these medications increase bleeding and swelling at the injection site. Also, talk to Dr. Ditesheim about any history of cold sores so that he may prescribe a medication to reduce recurrence.
After Treatment
There will be a bit of swelling at the injection site and, in rare cases bruising. However, this all subsides within a day or two. Placing an icepack on the area treated can reduce any discomfort.
Injectables Cost
It is important that you have a variety of payment options available to you. We offer financing options through CareCredit®.
