Blepharoplasty involves both the upper eyelid and the lower eyelid procedures. Depending on each person's unique characteristics and cosmetic desires, one of these procedures, or both, may be performed. The procedure can help to rejuvenate the upper eyelids, making a person appear younger and more alert, correct bagginess under the eyes, and provide a more youthful appearance
- Eyelid surgery restores or sculpts a youthful contour to the upper eyelid and can improve bags, puffiness and sagging skin of the lower eyelid.
- This can be done by either removing the excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids, or by removing excess fat from the lower eyelids.

What is the recovery after eyelid surgery?
Following your eye lift surgery (blepharolplasty) procedure, the area around your eyes will be bruised, and most likely swollen, for about 10 days. While recovery usually takes a few days, it may take a few months for the swelling to subside and to fully see the complete results of your eyelid lift.
What does eyelid surgery cost?
Total costs including professional anesthesia care (MD), credentialed, accredited surgical facility (OR and Recovery) and surgical fees (all professional care) for eyelid surgery will range from: $3800-$4,300 (for upper or lower) $6,500–$7,500 (for upper and lower).
Where will the eyelid surgery be performed?
The eyelid surgery procedure may be preformed in a partner hospital near Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery or in our own AAASF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities) accredited surgical suite. The blepharoplasty cosmetic surgery procedure is usually done as an outpatient, under general anesthesia administered by a physician anesthesiologist to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
How long does eyelid surgery take?
The surgery time may range between 1 – 1 1/2 hours depending upon your needs. The specific method used for eyelid lift surgery will be determined by Dr. Ditesheim based on your facial features.
