Tummy Tuck Overview
After pregnancy, weight loss or just plain aging, many people find themselves with excess skin and fat around the belly and decreased strength and tone of the muscles beneath. Abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” addresses these problems for both women and men. The result is improved body contour and a smoother shape to the abdomen.

- A tummy tuck removes extra stretched skin (from pregnancy or large weight loss), tightens the inner tummy support (from pregnancy) and shapes the waist by removing excess fat
- A tummy tuck can correct a “hanging tummy” or a “poochy tummy” to create a flat tummy.
Tummy Tuck FAQ's
What is the recovery after a tummy tuck?
You will be able to walk, standing upright, without being bent over, starting the night of surgery. You will continue a post-operative walking regimen daily for the first week. Our goal is for every patient to be able to do 80% of their regular pre-op activities by the middle of the second week. This means returning to work, driving carpool, caring for the family. Aggressive or strenuous activity is gradually re-introduced.
Is a tummy tuck painful?
Being able to walk upright even the evening of surgery allows your body to get back to “being normal” as quickly as possible. You will have a multi-tiered pain management program that minimizes the grogginess from narcotic dependence. The majority of the pain comes from the muscle or inner tightening. This pain is controlled at the source of discomfort with an skinny pain catheter. Any break though pain is managed with muscle relaxants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medication or narcotics.
What does a tummy tuck cost?
Total costs for a tummy tuck including professional anesthesia care (MD), credentialed, accredited surgical facility (OR and Recovery) and surgical fees (all professional care) will range from: $6500-$10,500.
Is a tummy tuck safe?

Where is the tummy tuck scar?
The tummy tuck scar is placed low on the torso, just above the pubic area so it will be concealed by a bathing suit or panties. Without tension, the scar will heal without pain and will fade with time.
