Breast Augmentation FAQ's
What is the recovery after breast augmentation?
Most women can return to full activity within a week. When implants are placed under the breast, the recovery can be less than 24hours; under the muscle, plan for 3-7days.
Is breast augmentation painful?
No. Most women complain of chest pressure, not pain. This feeling lasts for 1-3days. Think of stretching a muscle during a tough gym workout: using cold therapy, being active and muscle relaxants/NSAIDs can control the “pressure feeling” during these first few days.
What does breast augmentation cost?
The cost for breast augmentation can range from $3999 to $6999. These fees include breast implants, surgical care, the facility and MD anesthesia. We do not compromise on safety. No matter what type of breast implants you select, you will always be cared for by an MD anesthesiologist. Your safety is our highest priority.
Will I know exactly what my breast augmentation procedure will cost?
Yes, At the cosmetic surgery consultation, you, Dr. Ditesheim and his breast surgery nurse will determine what is the “right implant”. This may be saline or silicone, may be subfascial or under the muscle. There may be a big difference in the size or shape of your breasts that you want to correct. The cost of of breast augmentation will depend on the choice of implants (silicone vs saline) and the complexity of your situation.
How do I know what size breast implant to select, silicone vs saline and under the breast or under the muscle?
Before the plastic surgery procedure, you will be “custom-fitted” for the breast implant that best complements you- your breast, your body shape, your chest. You will be able to “feel” the shape of your new breast size and even see what you look like in tops or camisoles. One size does not fit every woman! Most women are afraid to be too big: our custom sizing process® gives you a realistic look and feel for what to expect. No woman has had to have a second operation because she was not comfortable with the breast implant size selected using this process.
