What to expect at your consultation

We believe that consultations are a forum for both the patient and cosmetic surgeon to gather and communicate information to each other. We’ve designed the patient consultation experience around what we would like in a visit to a Charlotte, NC cosmetic surgeon—and we’re pretty picky. We like seeing the doctor quickly, not feeling pressured by sales tactics, being able to reach our doctor if we’re worried or just have a question, and of course we expect friendly office staff.

So that’s what we offer you.

What is the fee for a consultation?

The cosmetic surgery consultation is $85 and must be reserved with a credit card when scheduled. Call (704) 754-8351 to schedule your one on one consultation with Dr. Ditesheim.

Your consultation journey begins

When you open the door, you’ll enter our quiet, inviting lounge. Whether it is just you or you have brought a significant other (who are always welcome!), you will be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable Director of Patient Experiences, Jan Stanbro, with whom you most likely spoke on the phone.

Jan isn’t going to have you fill out pages of paperwork, but rather welcome you to our office.

Our experienced nursing staff Susie and Jennifer will say hello and escort you to our consultation room, where you will meet with Dr. Ditesheim. If you are seeing us about a breast enhancement or body contouring procedure, we will provide you with a soft, warm cloth robe to change into.

Your full cosmetic surgery consultation will probably take about one hour from start to finish, but can take longer if needed. Most important is that all your questions are answered and that you feel you have received all the information you need. You’ll never feel rushed at our office. In our experience, a thorough consultation allows us to better meet your needs.

A few things you should know…

  • We aim to spend the majority of your consultation listening and understanding your needs as a patient.
  • There are never too many questions or the wrong questions to ask.
  • We’re passionate about helping patients and love to talk about cosmetic surgery.

Meeting with Dr. Ditesheim

When you’re ready, Dr. Ditesheim will introduce himself give you a chance to discuss your desires and motivations for cosmetic surgery. He will evaluate your area of concern and explain the possible ways that cosmetic surgery can help you to address your specific goals.

During your examination, our very knowledgeable, caring and friendly nursing staff will be right there with Dr. Ditesheim. We do not use non-physician “consultants,” as in many plastic surgery practices. We believe you should have your questions answered directly by the plastic surgeon who will be performing your surgery. At Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery, you will be examined only by Dr. Ditesheim and the same caring medical professionals who will be with you from your first consultation to the operating room and throughout your recovery and aftercare.

After you and Dr. Ditesheim have addressed your concerns and questions to your satisfaction, you will meet back up with a member of our nursing staff. She’ll go over all the phases of your cosmetic surgery with you, including the period before the procedure, the details of the surgery scheduling, and the recovery. She will also address the timing of your post-procedure visits to our cosmetic surgery center. She will also review your payment and financing options.

No question unanswered

Dr. Ditesheim and his team will answer all of your questions in detail. However, with the extent of information you will receive during the cosmetic surgery consultation, you may have questions that arise after you after you have left the office. We encourage you to call back with any lingering or new questions.
